If you are starting a blog from blogger you are getting a sub domain. That is like
" yourname.blogspot.com ". Some bloggers are following the same domain. While others purchase custom domain.
Why they are using custom domain???
1#. Increasing the blog reputation.
Your visitors will be impressed by your blog like professional website. Only you are using custom domain.
2#. Quick web indexing.
If you are using a top level domains. ( eg:yourname.com, yourname.net, yourname.org), it will speed up your web indexing on the major search engines.
3#. Get more advertising services.
If you are using website for making money, you will get more ads publishing services from advertising company's. Because most company's are allowing to display their ads only in top level domains.
4#. Page rank will increase.
when you start to using custom domain, your website page rank will increase automatically.
5#. Increasing website traffics.
The viewers and fans will increase because of page ranking and web indexing speed.
6#. We can easily remember custom domains.
If you are using sub domain, normal people are unable to remember it.
7#. Cost of domain are cheap.
Now top level domain are available just for $10 (starting price ). So we can easily purchase and use it.
8#. No redirection in to country level extension.
From last month blogger had updated their services in domain. Domain blogspot.com will redirected in to country level extension. (eg: blogspot.com redirected in to blogspot.in).
In custom domain, there is no chance for the redirection.
According to my experience , while you are starting a blog, you should try to purchase a custom domain first. If it is top level extension it will be more excellent.
