The same is happening in the penguin tool as well. Just go to penguin tool and login with your Google analytic account. Allow penguin tool to access your analytic data by. Then it will automatically collect your analytic data from your Google analytic and show a graph same as your Google analytic. But there is some difference here. Inside the graph you can see all the updates of Google panda,penguin and other like a cross line. It shows all the updates.
So you can check the line whether the traffic is dropped or increased on the line. If traffic is decreased you are under the effects of either panda or penguin. And for minute checking just drag or select the part you want see which will zoom the particular part. You can check your graph properly when zoomed. In contrary to the name of the tool, it is not confined to the penguin updates but it also shows panda and Google's other effects. So I must say this is a good and proper checking tool for bloggers and website owners.
