Do you like the new digg v.1 ? Why some users like digg v.1 while others don't ?

Digg is relaunched in its new version on 1st August 2012 which is Digg version 1. The new version is completely different from the old one. They have changed everything including the color, the old digg had a blue color which is now changed to black. The new version is launched after the 6 weeks redevelopment sprint. The ownership of digg is changed as well.

After the relaunching of digg v1, users are giving a mixed feedback about the new version. Some people say new version is better compared to old version whereas some people are completely disappointed with the new version. I am one among the latter group   as I am also disappointed with this new version because I lost  all my digg followers. In reality there is no matter of disappointment because the public reaction was same when the Facebook introduced timeline. But now most of us are using Facebook account with the time line features.

The new digg has more and good advantages, but at the same time it also has its own disadvantages. But according to the tech experts, digg v 1 will update more features soon. So we can wait till then.

Why people likes Digg v.1 ?  

Digg v.1 is completely changed to a simple website, like pinterest. They have divided stories into three categories which are top stories,popular and upcoming. The design is very simple for people to like it.

Now the developers have not monetized digg. So now it looks like a completely ad free site. They have also separated stories in column so that people can view all in home page itself.
People can share the stories via tweeter and Facebook . And you can also digg the stories.

Now they are also introducing an app for i phone. So people can save their favorite stories on their i phone. The signup option is now available only through Facebook and there is no comment box so people cannot comment on the stories, This is done so that they can prevent the scamers.

Why people dislike Digg v.1 ?

The main reason for people disliking the new digg v.1 is that there is no other option to sign up to digg other than the Facebook account option. It is more difficult to people who do not have a Facebook account as they will have to make a Facebook account in order to log in to digg.

 There are no subcategories for different types of stories. They are differentiated only as top stories, popular stories and upcoming stories. The previous version had more subcategories like technology, entertainment, world news etc.

There is no commenting options, also there is no " My news" option and only people can share the stories to Facebook and twitter. There are no followers, no awards etc. these are the reasons that made people dislike the new digg v.1 .

Anyway I think digg v.1 will add more new features soon. And even they will get more users than previous version. So just wait for it to know if it will happen or not..
